Disney Trip 2009

Ill be going down to WDW next week for a few days to celebrate by Birthday and capture some audio and video for the show. Let me know if you have any requests for what you would like to see on a future show. I'll also be doing a Mission: Disney for Lou and Bob at the Beyond Main Street podcast I won't know what it is until I get down there but look for it on their show in the future.

If anyone is going to be down there it looks like there will be some of us meeting up at Raglan Road at Downtown Disney on Feb 2 at about 9pm. Everyone is welcome.  I'll let you know here if this changes.

We will still be down here(there) until the 4th.  As of tomorrow we will be at AKV .  PM me your details and maybe we can hook up.  We are travelling with an infant so bars are not good for us, but anything else.

I'll have a full trip report on the next show but just to answer a few questions here. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to get to Jelly Rolls this trip we'll have to wait until Mousefest. I didn't find a huge difference between the Celebrate promotion and the way the cast members act any other time. Everyone had a button for something which I think took away from some of the truly special celebrations.

The Celebrate Dreams Come true parade which I'll put out as a video podcast soon was a slight improvement on the revious parade. The music I found was better and less repetetive but I was dissapointed that all the dancing cast members had the same costumes on they rearranged some of the characters on the floats but no majour changes there.

On days where the parks are busy they have been adding a second Fantasmic show. On the Feb 2 when I was there the first show was at 7 and the second at 8:15 you only find this out at the park and they seem to decide this a some point during the day. I rarely line up for shows and showed up for Fantasmic at 6:45pm and walked right in it was busy but there was a section and a half still empty this filled up by 7pm at which point the show was cancelled for rain. I was meeting people at Raglan Road so I ended up not staying for the second show since I thought it would be cancelled too it wasn't and I was dissapointed I missed fantasmic again. They do a short show however when Fantasmic is cancelled I'll put that up on You tube it's neat but there are no cast members involved.

I also saw the American Idol Experience Eric and Heather went to every show that day I think and Eric auditioned and got as far as seeing the producer, not bad. The show itself was ok they try to hype up the crowd and there is some audience participation but how good the show is really depends on the quality of the singers that show. The Simon, Randy and Paula equivalents tried to act too much like them and it came of corney in some places. Overall it is still in preview so they may iron out some of the rough spots before the weekends opening.
